Idea Generation
I wanted to write an engaging story about women who bravely overcome various odds as an integral part of their character development, aiming to showcase the complex expectations that western society has placed upon women. I wanted to craft a narrative centered around cannabis prohibition and the nuances of capitalism, exploring who it truly impacts and how. I envisioned a thrilling adventure where all the main characters are disabled individuals, in order to encourage readers to critically question the pervasive nature of ableism in our world. The concept initially came together in my mind with the idea of disabled women learning to fly, undertaking the daring task of transporting cannabis to patients living in areas where it remains illegal, because who would ever suspect them? As I continued to develop the story, it began to grow and evolve, with intricate plot lines and multifaceted characters drawn from my personal life experiences, creating a rich tapestry of narrative and authenticity.
